No stairs in the new Mission to carry food pantry up and down WOW! Our deliveries will be right at ground level, After 26 years, my team has spa paid the price!! No stairs for our seniors and handicapped and it will be wheel chair accessible. I sometimes had to crawl up the stairs and I say Hall Ilu ah Thank You Jesus.

My next newsletter will be focused on telling you all the praises for people who were strangers before sandy and now have become so precious!

MY MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS E MAIL IS, TO AGAIN, ASK FOR YOUR HELP!

WE NEEDS SUPPLIES: SHEETROCK, PAINT (ETC) LICENSED ELECTRICI AN AND PLUMBER POWER WASHER, NEW SHELVES    FINANCES FOR OUR MOVE: COUCHES AND RECLINERES  FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAM AREA.

Our rent will double. I am a woman of faith. And always have been.  This time my Lord has truly stretched and stretched it. My landlord is stepping out for me if I struggled for the past two years paying the rent, he wants to know how this will be possible maybe, some of you would pay several months in advance, or even a year? May be a month to honor someone, a child’s birthday month? Or simply to pray and ask God’s leading?

Only other option is two stores together, with a container in back parking lot $3000.00 a month.  Need $10,000 to give the landlord so he can start repairs devastated from super storm sandy. Also we need some of our groups to come and do construction.

NEWS LETTER FEB 14, 2013

I’ve been reissuing what’s going on at the mission and I know you would like to know. Of course, after the hurricane we remain in the streets assisting other for about 3 months. Were grateful to the Red Cross, the National Guard, and all the trucks that just showed up from out of state time after time. Several of them told us “we just rented a truck, put signs for donations all over it and watched as it filled up within hours”. We kept hearing this from a father and daughter, 2 brothers, and a retired school teacher and truck driver. The trucks kept rolling in – Our Senator Diane Savino sent us an 18 wheeler loaded up with new clothes.

Our next step now is to help people get back into their apartments that have been gutted out and started to be rebuild.

Ana is the single mom of five children who is a volunteer for five years here, she lived in a basement apartment and everything was lost. Now begins the process of repairing and restoring her life. Lots more counseling and for her children and getting her furniture.
Help! We have 2 weeks before our deadline is up. For us, Super Storm Sandy took our building away because our landlords were devastated as well, they need their space back. They have been so overly generous and compassionate for all these years over 20 years to be exact. I’ve been looking at buildings and house’s anything that may work for us.
One property excited about is a two family house with a store and a finished basement and a lot next door.   I see such possibilities. He’s already gone down in the price. It now is $500, 000. We could work our food pantries well; have our domestic violence and youth programs upstairs.

One place we could rent (ground Floor – two stores together Yea!) would be triple our rent now. I’m asking for some commitments: I’d love to pay our new landlord the rent six month or one year in advance.  It’s what his asking since you know; we had such difficulty the last two years meeting our rent.

That if no one could get some business people together or a church to buy our house and allow us to pay the mortgagee.

So many possibilities – Only two week’s.

Please Help – Come and look at the properties with us.

May God richly bless you.

33 days after the Hurricane, we got ½ the lights on in the mission. We had to pay a licensed electrician to check the entire building to certify that it was ok for Con Ed to put our lights on. (The guys who run the store downstairs also paid – It was $4500.00) Now, almost 2 months later, nothing has changed – ½ our lights on and NO HEAT. It’s difficult serving people this way but, at least we have our services upstairs again. Even without heat, it’s so much better than shivering in the freezing cold as we served for 10 – 12 hour days without anywhere to warm up for even 10 minutes.

My landlords, as fantastic as I’ve always told you they were, gave me an extension to after the holidays and then we’ll meet. I’m behind December (and soon January) rent. Could someone please step in and help us? Would someone commit to paying our rent for however long they allow me to remain here – UNTIL THE LORD SHOWS ME OUR BUILDING I pray!! Maybe someone would pay the rent directly to my landlords? Maybe you could get a group of your friends together?

We just had our Happy Birthday Jesus celebration at Peggy O’Neill’s thanks to John Imbrelli who’s a co-owner. We estimated about 110 kids; moms and dads opened their hearts to Jesus. One dad was crying and he made everything difficult worthwhile! We fed a feast on Christmas Eve from am to pm with gifts for adults and kids and spent Christmas Day with another meal and gifts for all. At our first shift of people, every single one stepped forward to rededicate their hearts to Jesus. As we prepare for New Year’s Eve – to pray the old out and our New Year in, I’m thrilled to be a servant of the Kings of Kings. There is tremendous fruit here. Our FEMA team has started a men’s group and one woman will join me for substance abuse groups.

To GOD be the Glory as you pray about a year end gift, please consider us. We need to get our debts paid off. This hurricane brought as much damage with much less anticipated financial help. I need our oil tank filled – it’s been labored over and ready except for money. Our commercial refrigerator and BRAND NEW freezer need to be replaced (when we move). Our front door glass and some windows need to be replaced.

May Jesus Richly Bless You and Your Families.

In Christ’s Service.
